Two weekends ago we had the absolute pleasure of adding cake to an old friend’s wedding day. When Ceris got engaged, after saying congratulations, my next comment was naturally about cake. She sent me some pictures from Pinterest about some ideas of what she wanted and so we began.
We decided to go for three different flavours and order them so that when you cut the cake there was an ombré look inside. The bottom tier was chocolate, middle tier was coffee and walnut and the top tier was white chocolate. We covered each tier with white fondant icing and the music sheets were from sugar paper.
Soph and I were so pleased with the final result and so happy with the reaction it got. The comments from the bride and groom as well as some guests have been lovely. Thank you Ceris and Gareth for trusting us with a centre piece of your day, we wish you many more slices of cake together in your years to come.

My turn for a kiddies birthday cake again, this time it was for my nephew’s third birthday. Lots of ideas were had about how to go about a Thomas cake, but we decided on a number 3, which being a mathematician I was very happy with.
The chocolate cake went down so well for the Little Mermaid birthday cake that it was requested for this one too. I made a stencil again for the number 3, making it out of 4 standard round sponges.
Once again I got carried away with the excitement of decorating and didn’t finish until 1am, resulting in another Friday evening of my boyfriend falling asleep in the kitchen watching me (oops! Definitely
I decided not to make a fondant Thomas to go on the track due to timing and experience (I am practising, promise). Was incredibly chuffed that the figure fitted perfectly on the track without prior measurements anyway, so it was clearly meant to be!
Baby shower cake next as another baby is joining the family (not mine!!)! Exciting times 😊
We have a nice deal at work that everyone puts a little money into the pot and on your birthday you get a Chlophie Cake. This 3 layered chocolate cake was for the head of department, she likes mint so we decided to add a hint with the Matchmakers.
Awesomely the flavour of mint infused into the rest of the cake so it actually all tasted like mint chocolate (score!). This is definitely one that we will do again 🙂
Looking forward to the next work birthday cake!
