Following the cake we made for a 9 year old’s birthday we were commissioned to make a cake for a girl who was turning 16. Having seen and eaten the other red velvet cake she wanted the same, with the rose icing but in three tiers and glittery.
Luckily we had learnt some tricks from the previous cake and bought the correct colouring and mass amounts of ingredients for this one. Compared to previous red velvet cakes this one was gloriously stress free – surprising as it was definitely our largest cake yet (and our first with tiers).
I had the “pleasure” of icing the roses onto it as I had more practice at it (and my word piping them on the sides was stressful). Chloe piped the little stars between each layer to fill the gaps and provide definition to each of the layers.
From what we’ve heard the cake went down very well.
